🧵Continuing with “Mr. Fancy Pants,” for some people it’s not good luck to get rid of the Christmas tree before 6 Enero, January 6th, otherwise known as Epiphany, when the wise Magi finally reached the baby Jesus, and the first thing they said was, “Boy, our dogs👣 is TIRED, 🤨‼️”
But seriously, if you ever find yourself a tourist in the city of Veracruz (Mexico), the city of the true cross, don’t plan on driving ANYWHERE on Epiphany, 6 Enero! And never ask me how I know, either, 😒!
Each day since Christmas, in each town, not just Veracruz, in the zocalos you’ve seen the camels & elephants and the wise men get closer & closer to the crèche.
I think in Latin American countries, 6 Enero is really bigger than Christmas.

Happy New Year, Paul, 😉👋🏽! May you win another Pulitzer!
🧵Regarding “Mr. Fancy Pants,” sometimes (before the solstice) I have this nihilistic dream of taking my Christmas tree (if I had one) decorating it perfectly, with lights & beautiful glass baubles. And then taking the whole thing outside & dumping it at the curb on December 23rd, but with the extension cord still attached, so the lights keep blinking!
Hahaha... robots counting down... maybe they just count down from 2... or, actually from 1... one, zero.
What is that in Paul’s caption, counting in base 2️⃣?
Tom Lehrer opined about base 8️⃣, of course:
“Base 8️⃣,” he said, “ is just like base 🔟, really… If you’re missing two fingers, 😉!”
