When people ask how I became a cartoonist, the first name I mention is my uncle, Jean Sebastian Noth, who passed away yesterday morning at the age of 86.
tenderest consolations. my people come from Vitebsk, Chagall's home town. Do you remember the Charles Addams cartoon of people on a commuter train who look out the window & see the giant knee of a large little boy who is delighting in his train set? I think of that cartoon a lot these days.
Sorry for your loss. It sounds like Uncle Jean was quite a character.
And knocking out some funny cartoons soon after his passing is completely appropriate. I like all of these here, but the Russo-Disney one is a scream. (The key detail: all that smoke in the distance.)
This is how your dear Uncle Jean lives on. Now we all know about him and his influence on your work. As they say, may his memory be a blessing.
Thank you so much, Robert. Hope you’re doing well. Enjoying your cartoons, as always.

Love that one!
I am very sorry for your loss.
Developing a warped sense of humour in children is the best gift you can give them. ;-)
Very moving rememberance of your uncle, Paul. I think we're all grateful that his influence lives on through your cartoons.
Thank you, Mitch

Keep 'em coming!
Thanks, Larry.
I too am so concerned about the immigrants, as I am one too.
Very touching story about your Uncle Jean. Condolences.
And a group of great cartoons, too!
Thank you!
Thanks for telling us about your Uncle Jean!
