Unfashionable Cartoons
It’s about to be Fashion Week in New York. I have tons of rejected fashion cartoons and barely any accepted ones. It’s one of those subgenres of New Yorker cartooning that I’ve never quite been able to crack, likely due to my own innate unfashionability.
It’s still a world that fascinates me, though, as an outsider looking in. Here are the three I’ve published that I consider proper fashion cartoons.
I have others that are more fashion-adjacent.
I’d have many more if we could all agree that pantomime horse costumes are high fashion.
Our first contender in this week’s sartorial showdown is called Coma Patient.
And in the opposite corner, our challenger: Cafe Policy.
Now on to the semifinals! The winner of our Therapy Battle, with an impressive 58% of the vote, is House Call.
And the challenger, from last week’s bout against Good Excuse, is Inmates.
Thanks so much for subscribing—especially all of you who go the extra mile and support my work financially. I really appreciate it.
